Cressida and Melanie, two Canadian businesswomen, started Birdie in 2017. Cressida, a mother, felt the pressure of parenthood, finding it hard to always keep a sense of self while raising children. Melanie, an aunt + former nanny watched her sister struggle to find suitable childcare for her little ones.
What began as a service for booking sitters has shifted into becoming a voice for parents, helping them find balance with their individuality and their titles of mom + dad.
Cressida and Melanie are helping build a future that removes criticism around parents seeking help, as the company builds technologies to connect parents with vetted, high-quality, support.
Birdie first launched in Western Canada and is currently growing across North America.
