How can I become a birdie sitter?

Simply start by filling out the questionnaire here to start the process. You will be required to submit the certifications needed once we reach out to you after you complete the questionnaire .

What certifications and documents do I need?

We require all of our sitters to have Child CPR and First Aid as well as a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector. In addition, you will have to provide 3 great references whom we will contact and details on your previous child-care experience. 

How can I update my availability?

Once you’ve been screened and provided us with all required documents, you will be in the Birdie database of sitters. Until the app is complete, you will be in contact with a Birdie representative directly and will be required to keep them updated about your availability. Once the app has launched, you can input the days and times you are available for up to one month; it is extremely important to keep your availability up to date. Based on you availability, job requests will be sent to you via the app. Ensure you have notifications for Birdie turned on in your setting so you can receive requests in real-time. Birdie will monitor the number of declined jobs, as we want our sitters actively working with our families.

What can I expect the day I have a job booked?

You will have been provided with the address once the booking was secured. Please show up 5-10 mins prior to the start of the booking to allow some time to get orientated with the family. When you arrive, you will text your Birdie Representative to let them know you have arrived; at the end of the booking once the parents return home, please text again to let us know the service is complete. You will receive payment directly to you account within 7 days.
